Nashville, TN / June 7, 2010 - Fervent Records' newly signed singer-songwriter Chris August recently released to radio his first single "Starry Night," and is now available at all digital retailers. This fast moving single has debuted at #29 on Billboard's Christian AC Indicator chart this week after only two weeks in rotation. While this Dallas, TX native may be considered a "new" artist; Chris is anything but a rookie in the music industry. The self-taught pianist, guitarist, and producer has previously worked with Brian McKnight, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, Ryan Cabrera, among many others, and is now focused on his solo career full time.

An inspiring up-tempo song of praise, "Starry Night" is the first single from his debut studio album No Far Away, which will be released by Fervent Records on August 24. Recorded in Nashville, Chris co-produced the album with acclaimed producer Ed Cash, who is known for his work with Amy Grant, Chris Tomlin, Steven Curtis Chapman, Dolly Parton, Bethany Dillon and mainstream artists Matt Wertz and Dave Barnes, to name a few. With his polished pop/rock sound, the album captures Chris' deft ability to embrace relationships and heartache in his songwriting.

Fervent Records approach with new artists has provided great success in recent history. Chris' debut comes on the heels of both Dove Award winning Francesca Battestelli (2008) and Sidewalk Prophets (2009).

Currently Chris is on the road playing dates with upcoming shows in Princeton, KY (6/6); North Lawrence, OH (6/23); Columbus, OH (6/24), and St. Augustine, FL (6/26, 6/27).
